Abstract:

This research investigated the EFL students’ views towards different motivational strategies in the same context. Moreover, it aimed at finding out the difference between their views in terms of genders. To do this, ۶۰ EFL learners of both genders were selected from University of Sistan and Baluchestan based on convenience sampling. They were freshmen (first year) whose ages were ۱۸ to ۲۱ and all were studying teaching English. The data were gathered quantitatively, and the instruments of this work were students' questionnaire. After giving the necessary information, the questionnaire was distributed to the participants by the researcher. Data were analyzed using SPSS software. Descriptive statistics were employed in order to investigate the participants' views. Iranian EFL students indicated their positive views on different motivational strategies. Moreover, due to the inferential statistics, no difference was found between students' views in terms of their gender. The results of this study can improve and enhance the teaching-learning situation that both teachers and learners enjoy the environment.
