Abstract:

E-learning has become an essential part of school practice across the world especially during the COVID-۱۹ and the need for a replacement for conventional real classrooms. E-learning which plays a relatively important role in learning for students is an educational approach in which educators and learners, despite distance and lack of close communication, make use of electronic resources and technology to communicate with each other. The purpose of this study was to investigate the students' attitude toward e-learning versus conventional classrooms in order to check if the students would find this new way of learning more affective compared to presence at the real classrooms or not. To this end, ۳۵۰ students (۱۷۸ female, ۱۷۲ male) who took online IELTS preparation courses in four English language schools were studied in Ahvaz, Tehran and Ilam, Iran. The results of the study show that ۵۶% of the students were interested in holding the IELTS preparation courses online. It also demonstrated that the students has a positive attitude toward e-learning replacement with conventional classrooms. More research with larger samples is required to better understand the possible advantages of this method.
