Abstract:
Controlling wind power plants is a challenging issue due to their nonlinear dynamics which involve many ambiguities such as unknown variable disturbances, parameter uncertainties and quick variations in the wind speed profiles. Thus, ordinary linear controllers cannot be effective enough to handle thesesystems. In this paper, a novel Fast Nonsingular Terminal Decoupled Fractional Sliding Mode Controller is proposed (FNTDFOSMC) for a wind turbine based on DFIG. The controller's main goal is to track DFIG based wind turbines' maximum power point to control generator speed and rotor currents.
