A TRACE-TYPE FUZZY METHOD FOR PREDICTING FOLLOW-UP SIGNIFICANT EARTHQUAKES abstract
In this paper, a trace-type fuzzy method for predicting follow-up significant earthquakes was worked out. Taking the earthquake sequences of 127 earthquakes of Ms>5. O since 1966 in China as the original samples of data.the inner-check was carried out for the samples by the processing method of fuzzy clustering soft division, and the fuzzy processing was conduct for earthquake category sequence beforehand. The inner-check results showed the correct prediction rate both time and magnitude can reach to 69% while the trace-type correct prediction rate under the meaning of natural language was up to 91%, being more effective than usual method. From the poind of view of Practicality,aforementioned method cas also be used in other districts and has some practical values.
