Abstract:

Passive mass damper (P D) and active bracing systems (ABS) have proven effective in reducing the response of seismic structures in full-scale test, In the present study PD and ABS are examined together as a combined system for their effectiveness. The basic goal is to consider material nonlinearity for structure as well as for PMD. A control algorithm is pole assignment method. The deferent cases for effectiveness of the modeling is examined. The reduction of energy required because of nonlinear hybrid control is compared to other systems, The feasibility of the method is demonstrated by an example of five story structure.
