SMEARED CRACK APPROACH TN DYNAMIC ANALYSIS OF CONCRETE ARCH DAMS

There are different approaches in nonlinear dynamic analysis of arch dams. This paper concentrates on the results obtained by a finite element program developed based on smeared crack modeling of concrete. An idealized symmetric model of a typical concrete arch dam is considered and the behavior of nonlinear model is compared and discussed thoroughly against the linear case
