TRANSIENT ELASTIC WAVES IN A MULTI-LAYERED SOIL REGION

Two real geological situations for a multi-layered soil media with existence of salt ore deposits are considered. These situations concern one and the same geological region but in different periods of its exploitation - in ۱۹۵۱ year and in ۱۹۹۴ year. There is a change of the situation during the years when the exploitation of the salt ore deposits has been done. The region is subjected to the buried explosive seismic load. The time function of the source is assumed to be the parabolic ramp function. The main goal of this work is to find the solution of the two-dimensional plane-strain transient wave propagation problem for geological columns with complex geometry. Hybrid usage of both: finite differences scheme of Wilson -B method together with BIEM is in the base of the solution.
