Jump-Dealing Problem in Online Live Pig Transaction abstract
The present research applied social network analysis for investigating indirect contact networks among counties using the movement of live pigs via four wholesale live pig markets in Guangdong Province, China. Therefore, we collected all 14,118 trade records for Jan and June 2016 from the markets and analyzed the pig trade patterns. Then, the maps have been created for showing the movement pathways. Evaluation of the network between source counties has been regarded as the primary goal of the research. Hence, a 1-mode structure has been established and the trading network features have been investigated. Consequently, we computed degree, closeness as well as betweenness, for all source counties and provided the models for comparing the impact of diverse disease control approaches on an epidemic's potential magnitude that spread through the proposed network. According to the findings, the pigs from 151 counties have been delivered to the 4 wholesale live pig markets in Jan and June 2016. In addition, results indicated trading more batches (truck-loads of pigs sourced from one or more piggeries) in the markets in Jan (8,001) in comparison to in June 2016 (6,117). In fact, the animals have been mainly provided from counties inside counties in Hunan, Guangxi, Jiangxi, Fujian, and Henan provinces and Guangdong Province (90%). Therefore, the primary source counties (n =46) accounted for 94% of the entire batches in the course of the months under study. Moreover, the animals have been sourced from the piggeries situated at 10 to 1,417 km from the markets. Distributing the nodes' degree in the two months of June and Jan demonstrated a free scale network feature. In Jan, the network showed a greater clustering coefficient (0.54 versus 0.39) and a shorter average pathway length (1.91 versus 2.06) than in June. Furthermore, results showed the most related counties of the network to be the northern, western and central areas of Guangdong Province. In comparison to the randomly eliminating counties from the network, elimination of the nations via the increased degree, closeness and betweenness led to more significant rectitude of an epidemic's magnitude epidemic. Finally, it is possible to use this study's outputs for informing the targeted control interventions for disease prevalence using this live pig market trade network in south China.
