Abstract:
Deciding whether to accept a new order is a very important issue in all production systems, which can play a major role in increasing the market share and profit of the production unit. This paper presents a new mathematical model to create an integrated system of order acceptance, capacity measurement, and scheduling for dealing with new orders arranged by a cellular manufacturing layout. It is possible to order at any time. Moreover, machine relocation is allowed with regard to the time of relocation during the period. Another notable feature is the alternative routing for parts and Cell Formation (CF) at the same time as scheduling. The model has been solved by GAMS software. Then sensitivity analysis is done and results show that the integration of CF, GS, and order acceptance in a mathematical model simultaneously can significantly improve system performance and increase system profits
