Design of Gamma-Alumina NanoRods-Based Catalyst for Low Temperature Hydro cracking of Vacuum Residue abstract
Mesoporous gamma-alumina with nano rod morphology exhibiting a high surface area and large pore volume, has been prepared by a nonsurfactant-templating sol-gel technique with a simple precursorsystem. This catalyst was designed for low temperature hydrocracking of vacuum residue. γ-alumina nanorods was characterized by nitrogen physisorption, wide- and small-angle XRD, TEM, Gamma alumina nanorods has a large surface area, pore volume, and pore size. Reactionswere performed in an autoclave reactor at low temperature and pressure. Nickel and molybdenum were used as active metals. The novel support was confirmed to be effective and suitable for hydrocracking of vacuum residue
