Abstract:

With the increasing growth of the vertical transport industry, the use of safe, low-consumption, and reliable systems has become very important for passengers. In this regard, engineers, considering the physical condition of the parts used in the elevator industry, have started using permanent magnet synchronous (PMS) motors. The PMS motors have always been used in other industries before entering the elevator industry, so using the same motors in the elevator industry, new challenges for engineers and designers began. One of the most important shortcomings in gearless motors is the return of the pulley during start-up, creating a momentary shock for the passengers, increasing the losses, and damaging the engine parts. Therefore, the engineers have tried to control the instantaneous starting torque by considering the size of the output torque. In this paper, using proportional–integral (PI) controller, proportional–integral–derivative (PID) controller output torque is controlled at zero moment and the performance of both controllers is compared with each other.
