Abstract:

Although production by foundry dates back thousands of years ago, it is still known as one of the most widely used and cheapest methods for producing products and parts with special complexities. In some of these parts, it is necessary to keep the space inside the part after casting. For this purpose, parts called “cores” are used, which are of different materials, such as special sands. These sands take the shape of a core in different ways and are crushed and emptied after the end of casting, and finally, their space remains inside the component. In this project, the purpose is to design and manufacture a machine that will produce these cores fully automatically and with the least intervention of the operator. In this machine, only the sand is loaded, and finally, the cores produced by the operator are delivered. The general used mechanism is that heat-sensitive sand is injected into the mold, and heating with electrical elements causes it to harden and then drain out of the mold. Finally, the device was designed and manufactured. Although many simplifications were made compared to the available samples in the market, the output and the final product were produced with similar quality.
