Abstract:
Photovoltaic thermal systems have proven to be a technology that can be used to maximize solar energy conversion and utilization. The interest in the energy efficiency of buildings and the integration of new technologies to reduce the heating and cooling loads through the building envelope is not new. The European Union (EU) is committed to decarbonizing its building stock as almost ۵۰% of the Union’s final energy consumption is for heating and cooling, of which ۸۰% is used in buildings. This paper analyzes the performance of a PV / T system for the heat demand of a typical two-stories, two-family building with atypical consumption level throughout the year. For this purpose, a building model was built in TRNSYS using the Multizone and TRNbuild building components. then The building model was connected to a mechanical ventilation system that provides heating in winter and spring according to the air temperature, and its heat source is a PV / T system to show whether the heating needs for the house are met in different seasons of the year.
