Abstract:

with increasing load levels and inadequate development of generation and transmission capacities, the operational restrictions of novel allied power systems are increasing. This has directed to dynamic oscillations in the power system that must be detected and damped fast. These oscillations are dependent on the quantities that specify the balance point of the system and thus affect the constancy of the system. In this article, the Chaotic shuffled frog leaping algorithm (CSFLA) is employed to optimize the power system stabilizer (PSS) parameters. To assess the suggested controller, a single machine infinite bus (SMIB) system has been regarded. The coefficients of the PSS controller have been optimized by this algorithm. Finally, the system has been simulated with the offered controller for the specific disorder in the generator input power, and then the dynamic responses of the generator have been shown. The simulation results demonstrated that the system composed with the suggested controller has an excellent performance in fast damping of oscillations of the power system.
