Assessment of bioremediation of BTEX inenvironmental abstract
BTEX as the most abundant hydrocarbon in environment is the commonpollutant in water and soil resources that increase the concern for itssustainability and Carcinogenic characteristic. In this research the BTEXbiodegradation in this condition was assessed. The identification of BTEXdegrader bacterium from the isolated and available bacteria was done. The capability of Bacillus thuringiensis in BTEX biodegradation wasconfirmed for the first time. Efficiency considering different factors likesalinity, cell mass, nitrate and BTEX concentration was done. Design ofexperiment by Taguchi method and optimization by Design Expertsoftware indicated the positive effect of the BTEX and nitrate increase onBTEX biodegradation.
