Abstract:

Teaching English as a secondlanguage is one of the most important andprominent issues that face many challengesand the importance of this issue hasmotivated English teachers to find creativeways in teaching English. Nowadays, withthe progress of science and technology,methods of teaching have taken a differentform and the old methods are used lessfrequently. One of the ways that helpsEnglish teachers is the use of artificialintelligence (AI) which has found a specialplace in the new era. By using AI , not onlycan teaching be more effective, but also itcan be considered as a teacher assistant inthe class. In addition to teaching, a teacherin the classroom has many other duties,including controlling the classroom, beingaware of the students’ learning rate, keepingthe class fun by games related to the subjectof teaching, taking tests and many othertasks that must be performed in the teachingprofession to achieve the desired learningresults. The aim of this review article is toinvestigate the impact of using AI as ateacher assistant on teaching English. Thestudy is descriptive in nature and therequired data will be collected from previousrelated studies. The results showed thatEnglish teachers can use AI as a teacherassistant to make the teaching process morepleasant and effective. The results can alsobe useful for the researchers who arelooking for using AI in teaching.
