The influence of distance between the soil and tunnel on the liquefaction and tunnel abstract
Liquefaction is one of the important phenomena in geotechnical engineering. It effects on many structures such as bridges, pavements, underground structure, and etcetera. The variation in some parameters inliquefiable soils affects the soil behavior. In this article, the effect of liquefaction on underground structures is investigated. For analysis, finite difference method is used. A tunnel is modeled with Finn model using sinusoidal wave for dynamic input. The effect of some parameters on effective stress, porepresser, bending moment, and shear and axial force on the shield of the tunnel was evaluated. Then, the obtained results calibrated with recent research carried out for tunnel behavior excavated in liquefiable soil. The results showed a good correlation with the recent work performed
