Abstract:

The current report concerns with the quantitative and qualitative analysis of the hydrodistilledessential oils from the fresh aerial parts of Cannabis sativa L.using by gas chromatography combinedwith mass spectrometric (GC-MS) analysis. In this sense, a total of ۱۴ constituent components weredetected, among which only one component remained unidentified. The chromatographic screeningof the obtained chemical profile revealed the presence of high quantities of cannabidiol (۳۱.۳%),followed by (Z)-caryophyllene (۲۴.۷%), caryophylla-۴(۱۲),۸(۱۳)-dien-۵β-ol (۹.۳%), α-humulene(۹.۳%), ۱۴-hydroxy-(Z)-caryophyllene (۵.۹%) and caryophyllene oxide (۴.۱%). In terms of generalcategories of natural compounds constituting groups, oxygenated sesquiterpenes (OS) (۵۸.۸%) werefound to possess the highest frequencies followed by sesquiterpene hydrocarbons (SH) (۳۹.۷%).
