Abstract:

Twenty-five populations of Oliveria decumbens Vent. were collected from various natural habitatsof Iran. The morphological characters of Oliveria decumbens Vent. were indicated also importantessential oils composition contained thymol and carvacrol extracted by hydro distillation and wereanalyzed by GC and GC–MS. The results showed that among the ۲۳ traits studied, Plant height, Plantdiameter, Internode length, Branch numbers, Stem leaf length, Stem leaf width, Umbellule ۱۰۰ wetweight, Umbellule ۱۰۰ dry weight/ wet, Bract width, Bract length/ width characters, are mostimportant morphological characters for classification and clustering populations.Significant correlation between Stem leaf width and a chlorophyll with carvacrol indicated thesemorphological parameters are as sources of essential production therefor limitation in these sourcescan reduce the storage of carvacrol in flowers based on regression model obtained using MRAstepwise method.
