Abstract:

Change management is the process of preparing, supporting, and helping individuals, teams,and organizations to make a change. It involves understanding the root causes of resistance to changeand developing ways to support impacted people through change. Successful change managementrequires a shift in mindsets - both individual and institutional. To lead successful change managementin the modern workplace, leaders should begin by creating a new vision for the future. They shouldplan for and leverage collaboration, embrace disagreement and pushback, and make it safe foremployees to question what's happening. Leaders should also set up a culture where it's safe foremployees to disagree with them without fear of retaliation. Managing change is tough because thereis little agreement on what factors most influence transformation initiatives. However, some bestpractices include reshaping the work environment, identifying initiatives senior managers should paymore attention to, and setting up crucial projects for success.
