Energy absorbtion of High Performance Polyethylene Fiber Composite abstract
In this study, thermal analysis of high performance polyethylene fiber (HPPE) fiber laminate was studied and the influence of the temperature on the impact resistant of HPPE fiber composite was investigated by drop weight test. For fabrication of composites a processing method called high temperature-high pressure sintering/compaction was used. The results showed that in pressure 3MPa and in 30 min time, impact energy absorption is up to the highest value when the sintering/compaction temperature is about 125. The study results would be valuable for theproper preparation of high impact resistant composites.
