Criticism and analysis of the ways of characterizing in the long story of sanatorium No. ۶

Character is one of the main elements of the story, without which the creation of the story is not possible, But dealing with this story elements shows the ability of the author in creating a lasting literary work. Mohammad Hanif is one of the story writers with a contemporary stile. The author has tried to find various ways of characterization in the long story of sanatorium No. ۶ using a descriptive- analytical method. The findings of this research indicate that the author has used direct characterization such as description and indirect characterization such as behavior, speech, name, appearance and environment in this story. In this story, we come across all kind of main, secondary, static, dynamic, simple and comprehensive characters who have somehow connected the events of the story with cause and effect relationship. There are more men than women in the story. The influence of the characters of this story from the short story sanatorium N. ۶ written by Anton Chekhov can also be considered and examined in its place, and the similarity in the title of the two stories is also clearly evident. This story is placed in the field of sacred defense stories because it explores the characters in the midst of war and captivity.
