Abstract:

The small punch test method is always applied to estimate material properties. In the field of fractureproperties determination by small punch test, there are a few methods containing Crack Tip OpeningDisplacement (CTOD) measurement. To this end, the CTOD parameter must be calculated in various forcesduring the test. The current study introduces a new setup in which an optical microscope is fixed below thespecimen whereby the notch deformation can be monitored and stored as images. An optical microscope isplaced under the specimen to observe the specimen. The setup design is explained. Finally, The setup wasused to estimate CTOD parameter for an aged material.
