Investigating the effects of additives in accelerating the composting process of house waste composting abstract

There are different ways to decomposition of organic compounds and compost production from household waste. In this research, the effect of various additives in accelerating the composting process of household waste to obtain stable compost from solid organic waste was investigated. in this method, a laboratory-scale reactor was used in which wood chips and rice husks were selected to adjust the ratio of carbon to nitrogen. For the production of combined compost. The results showed that the use of both bulking agents and animal manure had a significant effect on the physical and chemical characteristics of the final compost. The duration of compost production was reduced from 19 days and 23 days in the samples to 7 days in the main mass, and the final product with a ratio of carbon to nitrogen of 14.62, no unpleasant odors, with a dark brown color and free of any insects, which based on the germination index of 85.8%, it is possible to use this compost in agricultural lands. In general, the addition of these materials (bulking agents and animal manure) and additives accelerate composting process and improve the quality of final compost.
