Abstract:
There are currently no guidelines in codes for calculating the composite action between a steel beam and a precast concrete slab using deconstructable high-strength friction-grip bolt (HSFGB) connectors in composite beams. The design strength for this type of connector was considered in this study through extensive behavioral and statistical analysis. As a result, the design of experiment (DOE) statistical technique utilizing the Plackett-Burman (PB) design was used to screen the important and effective factors on the ultimate strength of HSFGB connectors. Then, based on a database of all existing experimental findings and the results obtained from extensive three-dimension finite element (۳D FE) models conducted in this paper and appropriate statistical analysis, a high-precision equation for predicting ultimate strength is provided. The proposed equation's acceptability and suitability to predict the ultimate strength of HSFGB connectors have been assessed and confirmed against statistical requirements. The equation developed in this paper has higher accuracy in comparison to other proposed research relationships, according to the adequacy test and residual analysis
