Liposomes, hydrogels and dendrimers: functionalnanoparticles in the treatment of diseases such asbreast cancer

In the last few decades, cancer has become one of the most significant medical problems thathas affected millions of lives throughout the world. In recent years, extensive research andanalysis have been carried out on how to treat tumors in a scientific and in-depth manner over aconsiderable period of time. The fact that chemotherapy has been proven to be a viabletreatment option for cancer for several years has sparked a great deal of interest within themedical community. There is, however, one main limitation in the use of chemotherapy drugs inclinical practice which is due to their wide biodistribution and short half-life, respectively. Toovercome the limitations of the current cancer treatment methods and to improve the efficacy ofthe cancer treatment methods currently available, it is crucial to develop novel medicine deliverysystems to overcome the underlying limitations. There has been an explosion of scientificadvances and breakthroughs in nanomedicine, which include early cancer detection, targeteddrug delivery, and personalized therapies for cancer treatment. The purpose of this review is todescribe liposomes, hydrogels, and dendrimer nanoparticles as nanocarriers loaded withanticancer drugs that can be used to treat breast cancer
