Investigating the Amount of Damage Caused by the Impact of a Suicide Drone in Concrete Structures and Providing a Solution for the Rapid Retrofitting of Existing Structures abstract

In war, one of the damage to buildings is their destruction due to the impact of bombs, missiles and recently suicide drones. One of the most important issues during war and military attacks is the protection of sensitive structures. Today, as it is known in the war between Russia and Ukraine, the use of suicide drones to destroy and damage sensitive, strategic structures and infrastructures has been widely used. In this research, using numerical modeling by means of Abaqus finite element software, the amount of damage caused in concrete buildings was investigated and then a solution was given to quickly strengthen the existing structures. One of the ways to strengthen the structure is to use prefabricated concrete slabs and another is to use steel sheets. The results showed that the use of prefabricated concrete slabs, in addition to quick implementation, prevents the contact explosion that causes great damage to the main structure. Also, the use of two steel sheets made the main structure remain undamaged due to the impact of the drone. The creation of two steel sheets caused the wave caused by the explosion to be trapped between the two sheets and not hit the main structure.
