spatial analysis of urban smart growth indicator by TOPSIS method(case study: Tehran city)

In recent years, due to the rapid development of cities and the lack of urban land, plannerswere looking for solutions that, in addition to preserving suburban agricultural land,organize the spatial distribution of urban land use so that all city residents’ benefit fromurban services. Today, population growth is the primary reason for the rapid expansion ofcities, but its unreasonable dispersion has adverse effects on the natural and culturalenvironment of communities. Many measures have been taken to eliminate the negativeeffects of the dispersed expansion of cities, the most important of which is the smartgrowth strategy as one of the solutions to deal with the dispersion of urban development.Smart urban growth is one of the most important development strategies from within thathas been considered important. The data and information required for the research havebeen collected from the statistics of Tehran in ۱۳۹۹, the detailed plan of ۱۳۸۵, etc. Toanalyze the data, the weighting of the rank image, Moran index, and TOPSIS model hasbeen used. Software EXCEL, GIS has also been used. The study area is ۲, ۸, ۱۰, and ۱۵metropolitan areas of Tehran. The results showed that the region was ranked ۱st, ۳rd, ۴th,and ۲nd, respectively.
