Abstract:
Springback is a very common and critical phenomenon in sheet metal forming operations,which is caused by the elastic redistribution of the internal stresses after the removal ofdeforming forces. Springback compensation is absolutely essential for the accurate geometry ofsheet metal components. This paper presents a finite element model to simulate the V Bendingprocess of a ۱mm thick Aluminum Alloy ۶۰۶۱-T۶ workpiece in order to analyze the effects ofpunch radius on the amount of springback in this process. The simulations suggest that thesmaller the punch radius the less springback occurs during the process.
