Abstract:
Silicon nanoparticles (SiNPs) and potassium sulfate have been reported to improve plant tolerance to water deficit stress, but their effects on canola have not been extensively studied. The objective of this paper was to investigate the effect of different levels of water deficit stress (۰.۸, ۰.۶, and ۰.۴ FC), different levels of Si-NPs (Si: ۱۰۰, ۲۰۰ and ۳۰۰ mg kg ۱ Si-NPs) and different levels Potassium sulfate (۱۵۰ and ۳۰۰ mg kg ۱). A factorial experiment was carried out in three replications. The results indicated that under water deficit stress conditions, chlorophyll content, Stomatal conductance and transpiration were decreased. Also, application of Si significantly enhanced the tolerance of canola to water deficit stress by increasing photosynthetic characteristic. Application of ۲۰۰ mg nano-Si kg−۱ resulted in the best performance in canola.
