Effect of natural zeolite on chloride diffusivity of concrete abstract
The ability of concrete to resist the ingress of chloride ions is an important parameter of durabilityof reinforced concrete structures located in marine environments. The effect of kinds of pozzolanicmaterials on the chloride diffusivity of concrete is comprehensively documented; however, limited studiesare performed about natural zeolite concretes in this field. In current work, the effectiveness of naturalzeolite at different replacement levels, is evaluated and is also compared with that of silica fume in twodifferent regimes of chloride exposure. The results showed that NZ concrete mixtures had superiorperformance in comparison to control mixture. Though, SF had a better impact on diffusion characteristicsof concrete.
