Electromagnetic Load Effects on the Nonlinear Vibration Behavior of FGM Rotors abstract
This study investigates the influence of electromagnetic forces on the nonlinear vibration behavior of functionally graded material (FGM) rotors. Nonlinear governing equations are derived using Hamilton's principle and the Galerkin method is employed to convert partial differential equations into ordinary differential equations. Utilizing the multiple scales method as an analytical approach, a modulation equation is obtained. Numerical results show how the volume fraction index of ceramic and metal components in the FGM rotor affects the frequency response diagrams for primary resonance. The research also explores the effects of air-gap length, electromagnetic load, and vibration modes on the rotor's nonlinear responses.
