Carbon Nanotubes Supported Ru(Salophen)Cl: An Efficient Catalyst for Oxidation of Aromatic Amines with NaIO4 abstract
In the present work, Ru(III) salophen has been successfully supported on multi-wall carbon nanotubes-bound 4-aminophenol via axial ligation. The catalyst,Ru(salophen)Cl@AP-MWCNT, was characterized by FT-IR, UV-Vis spectroscopic techniques, SEM and elemental analysis. This catalyst was used as an efficientcatalyst for oxidation of aromatic amines with NaIO4 under agitation with magnetic stirring. This new heterogenized catalyst is of high stability reusability in the oxidation reactions. The effect of reaction parameters such as solvent oxidant in theoxidation of sulfides was also investigated.
