Decoding Prophetic Signifiers:Uncovering Precursors of Artificial Intelligence in Pre-Digital Technical Manuscripts Through Discourse Analysis abstract
This study employs discourse analysis to investigate the presence of prophetic signifiers in pre-digital technical documents as potential precursors of artificial intelligence. Some cases of texts from the pre-digital era were studied using a multi-dimensional discourse analysis approach, encompassing social, cultural, and cognitive factors. The findings suggest that these early technical documents contain elements of language and meaning that foreshadow modern AI concepts, indicating a historical continuity in the evolution of artificial intelligence. By exploring these prophetic signifiers, the study contributes to the understanding of AI's development, its societal and cultural influences, and its potential future trajectories.
