Interaction of Quay Walls and Random Waves Using ArtificialNeural Network abstract

Quay walls serve as crucial protective structures against wave-induced forces in coastal regions. To studywave-structure interaction efficiently, physical models are often employed due to the random nature ofwave behavior. This study aims to investigate the behavior of quay walls under random waves usingexperimental methods. The study utilizes vertically shaped walls and subjects them to sea random wavesfollowing the JONSWAP spectrum. Built-in sensors measure surface level and wall strain values. Aneural network model employing the feed-forward method with the backpropagation algorithm isdeveloped to analyze the time series data. The model exhibits high coefficients of determination duringtraining and verification, indicating excellent performance.
