Investigating the effect of different types of frames in a 15-story steel structure abstract

One of the main current debates in the civil engineering of structures and earthquakes is the better protection of structures and, in addition, residents against the destructive effects of destructive environmental forces such as wind and earthquakes. energy reduction systems have been widely used to reduce earthquake forces in buildings. One of the most important earthquake energy reduction systems is the viscous fluid damper in passive control, which is suitable for seismic protection of structures and has a significant effect on the seismic response of structures. In this research, the implementation of 4 types of fifteen-story steel skeleton with viscous fluid damper, special 7-divergent brace, medium bending frame and special converging brace were evaluated by ETABS software, subject to dynamic time history analysis and nonlinear static modeling method. The results showed that the addition of viscous damper reduces the effects of seismic force, including base shear, displacement, and periodicity, compared to the special 7-divergent brace, the special converging brace (diagonal), and the average bending frame by 23%, 46%, 72% and 36%, 73%, 106% and 31%, 59%, 94%, respectively and the amount of damage in the structural floors and structural members is less compared to other frames and braces.
