Effect of Calcination Temperature on Properties of Dolomite Refractory abstract
In this study, the effect of calcination temperature on the behavior of dolomite refractory was investigated. Dolomite powder was calcined at temperatures of 1000, 1200, 1400, and 1600°C. The samples were prepared using the pressing method, and then sintered at 1700°C. XRD results of the sintered samples indicated that as the calcination temperature increased, the amount of CaO phase decreased, while the amount of Ca(OH)2 phase increased. The microstructure of the sintered samples also showed a significant difference in morphology. As the calcination temperature increased, the resulting samples exhibited lower cold crushing strength and a higher degree of hydration.
