Recent Design Techniques for Ducting Systems in the Air Conditioning of the Building

The design of ductwork systems in building services has traditionally been a matter of experience tempered with a little of fluid mechanics, of conformingwith space limitations imposes by others and of hope that the finalcompromise will be satisfactory. This practical example (CASESTUDY) of theductwork projects which have already been carried out in the City UniversityLondon by the NPS-Property Consultant Ltd.Initial project brief required a mechanical services solution that wouldimprove space conditions, could be incorporated into Architects new designconcepts for the student bar and supported a similar occupancy level ofapproximately 250 persons maximum. This section of the specificationtogether with the drawing numbered 07-9111 M01B, details the mechanicalservices works to be carried out to accommodate the proposed remodelingand alteration works detailed above.
