Abstract:
This paper has studied the vertical vibration of rigid circular foundations on a saturated poroelastic layer resting on rigid rock by using the cone model concept. One-dimensional strength of materials approach and the Biot’s theory have been supposed. Spectral response of solid phase has been derived analytically. The results have been compared with the corresponding published results (Bardet 1995) and good agreement was shown. The cone model has indicated higher fundamental frequency and lower maximum displacement for the solid phase
