Investigating the role of artificial intelligence on reducing inequality and achieving educational justice

Rapid advances in artificial intelligence have brought about far-reaching changes in various areas of governance. However, the role of this technology in reducing social inequalities and achieving justice has not yet been comprehensively explored. This research examines the intersection of artificial intelligence and social justice, focusing on the potential applications of this technology in reducing educational inequalities. Hence, the main goal of this study is to identify solutions for exploiting artificial intelligence to achieve equitable outcomes and ensure that technological advances are aligned with the principles of equity and inclusiveness in education. Given the persistence of structural inequalities in education and access to resources, artificial intelligence is proposed as a dual-faceted tool that can both exacerbate existing biases and provide opportunities for achieving equality. Using a qualitative methodology, including a literature review, case study analysis, and interviews with experts in the fields of AI ethics, social justice, and educational policy, this study identifies applications, challenges, and policy solutions in this area. The findings suggest that AI can be used in areas such as predictive analytics for resource allocation, personalized education systems, and more. However, challenges such as the persistence of biases in AI models, unequal access to technology, and ethical dilemmas in balancing efficiency and fairness require serious attention. This study proposes frameworks for reducing bias, increasing algorithmic transparency, and promoting inclusiveness in AI development processes. AI has significant potential to advance social justice, but realizing this potential requires conscious efforts and collaboration among various stakeholders.
