A CRITICAL DISCOURSE ANALYSIS (TEXT ANALYSIS) OF NAJAF DARYABANDARI’S PERSIAN TRANSLATION OF THE ADVENTURES OF HUCKLEBERRY FINN BY MARK TWAIN

This study tried by applying the Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) as a critical method to clarify the ambiguity and misunderstanding that have been existing in translated sample work and to know strategies and techniques the translator has used in his work. The corpus of this study is literary story of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain which is translated by Najaf Daryabandari from English to Persian. The methodology of this research is based on Fairclough approach in CDA study; research has reviewed two aspects of vocabulary in text analysis, which are Words’ Expressive Values and Omission . Collected data from samples were analysed and the results were represented. The results can be useful for translation students or critics that can use CDA as a method in translation studies, translation quality assessment and translation teaching
