NUMERICAL STUDY OF COHESIVE SEDIMENT TRANSPORT IN QESHM CHANNEL abstract

Today the modeling system with the capability to predict gradual changes as an engineering principle and policy making is discussed in coastal areas. Phenomenon of sediment transport andmorphological behavior of a region due to its importance in determining the appropriate place for construction of ports and marine structures is in key categories of coastal processes. Existence of the most important ports of Iran(Rajaee and Bahonar port) in the East(Fig1.) andthe most water habitat(mangroves) of country and high capacity development of north and south shores and and lack of sediment studies, shows the necessity of a comprehensive model to study different sediment process in these region.
