Abstract:
Slope stability analysis is one of the most important topics in geotechnical engineering . Slope stability can be analyzed using one or more methods . Analytical and numerical solution are the famous methods . Numerical analysis and finite difference method used in this article to investigation of the nail characteristics on the safety factor analysis of slope . Nail inclination , nail length , nail spacing , nail arrangement and slope angle are the influence factors on safety factor value .These factors studied by numerical finite difference software FLAC/SLOPE in this paper . For the nail vertical spacing , 1.5 m has the best and optimum results . Also the uniform horizontal nail with the length equal to excavation height has the best results . For the nonuniform nail , the length of top nail row can be equal to excavation height and the other nails equal to 0.5 H (we get the optimum design for this arrangement ).At last we get that , if the slope angle be 30 degrees and the nail perpendicular on the slope surface we have the highest safety factor .
