Abstract:
The plastic deformation process of fully clamped circular plates under shock loads is analyzed numerically. A lagrangian mesh of zones is defined in which the difference form of equations of motion relate the stresses of the zones to the accelerations and velocities of the nodes. These velocities in turn are related to the stresses by a suitable constitutive equation. The code is developed and used to analyze deformation characteristics of rate sensitive steel sheet with various loading conditions. The central deflection, response time and the profile of deformed part are obtained. The comparison of the results with those of experiments reported by other researcher, shows good agreements.
