Abstract:

Over the past half century, the civil society of Iran has created the need to expand public education. As a result, many schools have been built across the Iran in which the technical standards, environmental considerations and architectural identity are included in the lowest possible level. Most importantly, the space within the schools has no role in supporting children's education and creativity. Creativity in social view is one of the most important countries in development of organizations and countries and in individual view is effective in character development and mental equilibrium. Although the most effective period to develop this potential is childhood, most primary schools in the country do little efforts to foster it. Educational environment cannot be considered as a school building. It‘s elements such as its communication environment, open space, yard, etc., in which a student should feel meaning and concepts and where satisfy his curiosity. And if quality and attractiveness of the education environment is high and is designed according to the taste and preferences of students, it will make context favorable for being active in the field of education. However the educational spaces in Iran doesn’t have suitable design and there is less attention to the effect of quality of architecture. Then the purpose of this study is to provide methods for optimum designing of schools’ inside and outside spaces to promote physical and mental powers and creativity of children. During the study the effort was to identify some features of context which leads to nurture children’s creativity and are harmonize with their needs and are appropriate to promote educational activities. It should be noted that despite the overall standards in order to achieve the goals mentioned above, other factors that influence the design, such as climate, architecture and culture of the region, culture, and Iranian identity are considered .
