Abstract:
The conventional method for designing the reinforced concrete structures is based on load - resistance factors methods, in which they have constant values during the design procedure. However, using these factors, in some cases, make the safe and economical designs impossible. The load and resistance parameters are also random variables. Safe designs of structures require appropriate recognition of parameters and also their uncertainties. Therefore, this achievement is possible through the clarifying the effective design parameters and applying the reliability based design methods. The main purpose of this paper is the reliability based design of reinforcement concrete structures forshear forces. The reliability based design is achieved through the Monte Carlo simulation. In the concrete sections, calculating the safety factor for loadings and comparing it with common safety regulation in Iran (ABA) is the next goal of this paper.
