EFFECT OF NANOPARTICLES ON DROP SIZE DISTRIBUTION

In current study, the effect of nanoparticles on the drops size distribution of the toluene in water dispersion was investigated. For this purpose, a single stage horizontal mixer-settler equipped with two series of 4-pitched blade turbine impellers with 45 blades on one shaft was employed. Also, the influence of impeller agitation speed as a hydrodynamic parameter was studied. Results indicated that presence of nanoparticles led to smaller drops, narrower drop size distribution and more uniform size drops. Furthermore, Addition nanoparticles to the system caused to extreme reduction in decreasing rate of drop size with impeller speed about 20%, averagely
