Abstract:

Protective relay important role in maintaining the stability of the power grid, The occurrence of fault conditions and abnormal conditions in the power system is possible To reduce damage to equipment as a result of these conditions, important and expensive part of many separate power supplies or in the worst case loss of stability that could lead to partial or global extinction, it is necessary measures taken. The most important of these measures is updated electromechanical equipment and protective relays. The new generation of the brand Siemens SIPROTEC protective relays that are configured with software DIGSI high flexibility with adjustable times are Pre fault and Post fault. In this paper, capabilities and performance of microprocessor relay SIPROTEC 4 - SIEMENS that the project optimizes the protective system installed substation 230KV Ray power plant check and its impact on the speed command in moments of error offering. To test the performance of secure and reliable digital relays over electromechanical relays, O.C digital relays and under different dynamic logical algorithms and error conditions in a power system using the software MATLAB / SIMULINK simulation was tested. Fast performance, and high reliability with minimal power outage system in case of error is the result
