Separated Internal Flow Simulation Using Maxwell Slip Condition abstract

In this study, the microscale rarefied internal flow over a backward-facing step geometry is numerically investigated. The concept is numerically implemented and verified, with the focus on analyzing complex gaseous flows involving separation. Compressible backward-facing step flow is compared to other analysis results with the purpose of diatomic gas Maxwell slip condition validation in this work. Based on the results presented here, it is believed that the present pressurecorrection method based on the Navier–Stokes equations with Maxwell slip condition predicts appropriately the physics in complex microscale gas flows even with separations.
