Abstract:
A significant fraction of the world’s population is living in regions of known seismic hazard. This number isincreasing because of rapid growth of cities situated in seismic area, so perfect and economic designing ofstructures is one of the important strategies in structure science. Two important specifications for structuresresistance to lateral forces are stiffness and ductility which are provided using new structural bracing system calledknee bracing system which is obtained using changing in moment frame, eccentric and concentric bracing. Thissystem combines ductile and hysteric behavior of moment frame and eccentric bracing frames with stiffness ofconcentric bracing frames and overlaps weakness of systems. Nowadays, knee bracing designers are trying to putcriterions system designing and want to introduce it to the world valuable regulations. This research tries to studybehavior of this system. For that, SAP2000 software is used to study and compare of lateral displacement of kneebracing frame. Then, using Cellular Automata calculation model, the results of SAP2000 software are reviewed
